I performed and gave a heartfelt speech at the Library of Congress in Washington

Committee of 100 in recognition of the Sichuan earthquake relief efforts.
While in Shanghai that May, I had visited with some of the young victims who were
transferred to the Children's Hospital there, and their stories had moved me deeply.

Sichuan earthquake victims!

Chopin's grave
age: 9 years 8 months

I visited the grave of composer Frederic Chopin in
Paris, France while on vacation with my family after
the Royal Albert Hall performance.  I'd chosen
Chopin's Nocturne in C Minor to play at the benefit
for the Sichuan China earthquake victims this past
June in Washington D.C., so this time at Chopin's
grave site had special meaning to me.

Royal Albert Hall debut!
age: 9 years 7 months

A special dream comes true!  I performed with Lang Lang in London's gorgeous Royal
Albert Hall!  We played the Schubert Fantasie in F Minor for Four Hands for a sold-out
audience that surrounded our little stage at the center of the hall.  The program was
also being broadcast live on BBC Radio that afternoon, making it the largest audience
to date that I've played for.   It was an enormous thrill to play at Royal Albert Hall, for so
many people, and especially to play there with my idol, Lang Lang.
