On January 24, 2009, Marc delivered a speech and performed selections by Mozart, Chopin and
others in a solo benefit concert for the
China-California Heart Watch organization, raising $8,500
to help save the lives of impoverished rural Chinese children born with heart defects.
MUSIC SAVING LIVES
Dr. Robert Detrano, president of the organization, recently informed
us of a young boy in China who was saved thanks to a portion of the
money raised at Marc’s benefit performance.  Cui Jing, a six-year-
old from the Yunan Province was born with congenital heart
disease and had little chance of living a few more years.  But thanks
to the donations of everyone who attended Marc’s concert, Cui
Jing was able to receive the open heart surgery that he needed to
survive, and is now on his way to being a normal, healthy child.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this miracle possible.
